Hey there, I'm Kristin Melville!

Wanted to cut in and talk to you with a quick, direct introduction, which is how you’ll know this is a REAL person who loves Fantasy that doesn’t want to waste your time 😉

I’ve been an Author Accelerator certified coach since 2021, but I’ve been a Fantasy fan for much longer. My first memories were of daydreams of amazing adventures in original fantasy worlds, all inspired by my favorite books, anime, and video games. Like you, I’ve always had a story playing in the back of my mind. I was never bored, and I was endlessly creative.

What I wanted to be when I “grew up” was never even a question for me: I wanted to write! To create and share my Fantasy stories with the world. So I snapped up a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and got ready to make my dream happen. I loved fiction–analyzing and creating it–and there was nothing else I wanted to do in my life.

But after graduation, I floundered fast.

Truth is, I didn’t feel like much of a writer even with that degree. When I sat down to write, I was lucky to eek out a single sentence over the course of an hour. An hour. Sure, I knew a thousand tricks and techniques for good fiction, but no matter how many ideas I had, I just couldn’t translate those thoughts to the page.

I wouldn’t even call it Writer’s Block, because it felt even more dangerous. This was like writer’s drought. When a long-term block dries up your reserves and you’re worried that you’ve shriveled up beyond saving?

That was me. It felt inescapable.

This also wasn’t something that was taught to me in a class. It was as simple as the thing I loved didn’t love me back. If I was struggling that much to get words on a page, who was I to even try to become an author?

Had I wasted my time? My money? My life?

For years, I was convinced this kind of success just wasn’t possible for me, trapped in a “Why me?” mindset.

Zooming forward in time, I was putting myself through a few jobs that paid the bills but couldn’t feed my soul. I was going through the motions without any concrete goals. Plus, my hometown was getting expensive, so I was saving up to move away and to maybe, just maybe, figure out what to actually do with my life.

I had to pivot and figure out a way to live, not just make a living. I finally looked at all the success that others were having in writing and publishing books, and I faced myself with this one question:

“Why not me?”

Why should I allow myself to be exempt from success, when it was the one constant passion I ever had in my life?

So I gave up on giving up!

Years after getting my bachelor’s, I snagged a remote internship for a small publishing house, ready to fall back in love with writing. Working on a manuscript directly with authors invigorated me. More than that, it gave me hope.

I didn’t just love stories. I love people! And I love helping creative minds dig deep and make writing an important part of their lives. It was like helping myself, in a way, except that you get to reap most of the benefits 😉

So I created the Inkbound Writers Circle because not only do I love epic stories grander than life itself, but I saw common problems repeated again and again:

  • Genius ideas with deep lore and engaging characters, but buried under confusing plot choices and piles of self-doubt.
  • Passionate creators who struggled to find time to write.
  • Mushy middles that threaten the whole project because story structure simply doesn’t exist.
  • Spending years crafting a lush and moving Fantasy world… only to have no clue where to start with bringing it to life in a book.

When you join Inkbound, you are giving yourself creative peace of mind to pursue your dream of becoming a fantasy author! The problems you keep running into aren’t unique to you. They are common and surmountable through practice, theory, and dedication.

So get ready to answer one of the most important questions of your life:

Why not you?

Don’t just take it from me!

Everyone deserves to tell their story!

This should go without saying: The Inkbound Writers Circle is the place to include writers of all stripes. Pride is personal to me too, so you can trust that your life and voice will be supported here.

Let's be honest...
The cost of staying stuck is way higher than $7.

Another year of “almost done,” another draft that restarts at chapter one, and another manuscript that becomes a drawer novel nobody reads.

The Inkbound Writers Circle does way more than magically fix the problem. It’s structure, feedback, and community. Published writers need these three things, and they don’t just come into the world knowing everything they need.

It’s actually pretty simple: writers inside Inkbound finish. Writers outside it wonder why they haven’t yet.

Here’s What You Get When You Join The Inkbound Writers Circle Today...

Got Questions? Check This Out…

$29 a month feels like a lot right now.

Fair, especially because every dollar counts these days. But that's why I priced Inkbound as it is! Private coaching can run upwards of $500+ a month. Developmental editing charges by the word, which can result in at least $2000 per draft. $29 a month is a steal in comparison. Not only will you get personalized feedback based on where you are in your journey, but you'll save thousands in the long run!

What stage of writing is this membership best for?

Every stage! Most members are working on their first novel, but Inkbound is meant to support you through every step of publishing! Drafting, marketing, and networking are all part of making a living as an author. Build a strong foundation with us!

Is this good for me if I write more than just Fantasy?

The skills of fiction writing are universal. The only difference are genre conventions that certain readers are looking for. The courses and resources found in Inkbound are build for those creating their own fantasy worlds. If you plan to publish even just one Fantasy novel, you'll find inspiration and support here in Inkbound!

How active is the community?

Kristin is available every weekday to answer your questions, especially if you need help brainstorming or testing how the latest scene you worked on lands to fresh eyes. For our live events, the Monthly Author Mixer is the most popular. New threads can get a reply within the day, and you can always reach out to Kristin is you need more assistance.

How is this different from a free writing group or forum?

Online forums never have the fulll context on what you're working on. You have to ask piecemeal questions to get any useful feedback. No more searching through old Reddit posts for a scrap of inspiration! You'll pose a question to a group of writers who know you and what you're working on. Free means making do with what you can. Members of Inkbound get tailored help so they can finish their books faster!

Can I cancel easily if it's not right?

Absolutely! If you need to cancel your membership, you can do that anytime yourself through Heartbeat. You will lose access the the community, the courses, and the live events once the full month you paid for is complete.
